PNG PM Marape Congratulates Australia's New Prime Minister Anthony Albanese
Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape has congratulated incoming Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and thanked outgoing prime minister Scott Morrison for his continued support to PNG over the last three years.

He said this on Sunday after Mr. Albanese led his labour party to victory in the national election in Australia.
Mr. Marape in his congratulatory message said Australia and PNG have always been close and he looks forward to strengthening this relationship.
Australia has always been PNG's biggest and strongest supporter in as far as bilateral relations between the two countries.
The close ties had been further elevated with the outgoing Prime Minister Scott Morrison through more trade which Mr. Marape hopes will be continued under incumbent prime minister Albanese.
Prime Minister Marape thanked the Australian Government, in what was a first since 1975, for the direct intervention of almost K1. 5 billion in the PNG Budget.
