Six PNG Nationals Set for Intensive Training in Australia to Improve Access to Global Organic Markets
Six Papua New Guineans are set to travel to Australia for specialized training aimed at enhancing PNG’s entry into the global organic produce market. The initiative is the result of a collaboration between the Australian Government and Paradais Review Services, a PNG-based accreditation provider.

The group will head to Adelaide, South Australia, to participate in two weeks of intensive training as National Association of Sustainable Agriculture Australia (NASAA) Organic Inspectors and Food Safety Management System Auditors.
Despite the abundance of organic food produced in PNG, local farmers and producers have faced challenges accessing the international organic market. This difficulty is largely due to the absence of locally certified organic inspectors with internationally recognized qualifications. Currently, certifiers must be imported from countries like Australia, making the accreditation process both complex and costly for PNG agribusinesses.
Upon completing their training, the six individuals will provide on-the-ground certification services in PNG, streamlining the accreditation process and facilitating greater access for PNG produce to competitive overseas markets, such as Australia.
