Luxury Cruise Ship Regatta Brings Excited Tourists to Port Moresby

Port Moresby welcomed a wave of enthusiastic tourists today as the luxury cruise ship Regatta docked at Motukea Port. The vessel, operated by Oceania Cruises, arrived from Alotau and is set to depart later tonight.

According to PNG Ports, the ship was guided into berth by marine pilots, who boarded at 8:20 AM and successfully docked the vessel by 9:30 AM.

The arrival of Regatta provides a significant boost to Port Moresby’s cruise tourism industry, with planned excursions allowing visitors to explore key cultural and historical landmarks. Among the destinations on the itinerary were the National Museum and Art Gallery, Port Moresby Nature Park, and local war memorials. Some tourists also visited the Bomana War Cemetery to pay respects to relatives who lost their lives in World War II.
