Hooker Paul Aiton will miss Wakefield Trinity Wildcats’ next match, against London Broncos, after being hit with a one-match suspension by the Rugby Football League.
Aiton was adjudged to have made dangerous contact with Salford City Reds centre Martin Gleeson in Wakefield’s win at the Salford City Stadium on Monday night.
The Papua New Guinea star submitted an Early Guilty Plea to the offence, which happened seven minutes into the second half of the match.
The suspension means Aiton will miss Wakefield’s clash against London at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium on Sunday, June 23.
Loose forward Danny Washbrook also submitted an Early Guilty Plea to Grade A charges of punching in the same match, as did Reds’ Jacob Emmitt, who was involved in the same incident in the 46th minute.
Both players escape bans but lose the right to an Early Guilty Plea for 12 months.
