Facelift for downtown Port Moresby
Minister for Public Enterprises Ben Micah has announced a face-lift for down town Port Moresby in preparation for the 2018 Asia Pacific Economic Cooporation (APEC) meeting.
Mr Micah announced this last Friday during the inaugural PNG-Korea Trade and Investment Fair which was staged at Gateway Hotel.
Mr Micah said he has the clearance from Prime Minister Hon. Peter O’Neill to make the announcement and for serious discussions between the two countries. He said under this proposed project, that government would like to see the area in downtown being transformed to make it one of the most beautiful harbour cities.
He said with the skills, technology and more importantly the work ethics and attitude that Korea boasts, this could materialise in time to host leaders of the world such as the United States of America, Korea, China and others.
"With your help this area we intend on transforming this area of the city into one of the most beautiful harbour cities so that we can welcome the President of Korea, US China and other great leaders into country," he said. Meanwhile, Mr Micah said one of the biggest things he would like to see Korea exporting to PNG is its people and their work ethics and attitude.
He said despite PNG being a blessed nation and having all the natural resources which were the envy of many nations, that it to be lagging with a lot to learn especially in the area of time management. "If you can teach us this we can become a great nation," said Mr Micah. "I am serious and I would like an agreement be signed so that you can impart to us.
