Garry Lo stars in Hunters win over South Logan Magpies

The Papua New Guinea Hunters thrashed South Logan Magpies 42 - 12 at the Kalabond oval in Kokopo this afternoon. The game was played under wet conditions which gave the Hunters advantage to come out winners. 

Hunters winger Gary Lo was sensational  for the Hunters team as he outmuscled his oponent winger to score four tries. 

In the first half Hunters scored two tries to take the lead 10 - 0 at half time. 

In the second half, Hunters scored to extend the lead to 14 - 0. The Magpies scored their first try 10 minutes later when they caught the Hunters left wing defense napping and were trailing with a  scores of 14-6.

From here, the Hunters made small work of the Magpies defense running in tries at will. Lo was soon in for his third try beating several Magpies defenders to score.

The Magpies fought hard and saved face to score from some slack Hunters defense.

After some good attack from the Hunters on the wing, Hunters captain Isreal Eliab intercepted a Magpies pass to run 90 meters to score.

But the day still belonged to Lo who ran in his fourth try of the game in the dying minutes to bring the score to 42-12.

Hunters will take on Redcliff Dolphines at the same ground next week. The win puts Hunters conveniently in the top five with 19 points.
