Increase in detainees in Lae city

Lae Police Station has seen an increase in its detainees almost causing overcrowding in the cells.
This has been caused by pending investigations but Acting Metropolitan for Lae Timothy Pomoso said this week most of the detainees were released to attend their court cases as well as some have been transferred to Buimo leaving just 60 detainees.
Acting Met. Supt Pomoso said the crime rates in Lae have been steadily high as always as police continue to maintain law and order in the city.
