Bank South Pacific sends three more employees for training overseas

Three employees of Bank South Pacific will be on a three-month secondment to the Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI).
Alex Rogea, Nuni Kulu and Rebecca Senge are the third batch to be on overseas secondment, as part of BSP’s leadership development programme, which commenced in 2013.
Senge is the senior manager operational risk, Kulu, the southern region area manager and Rogea, head of human resources strategy and change.
BSP chief executive officer Robin Fleming said in a statement: “The exchange programme is part of a bigger drive to ensure that tomorrow’s leaders are prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.
“Hence emerging leaders will also be exposed to a range of training and development programmes, supported by mentoring and coaching.
“We believe this exchange programme will not only give these young talents an opportunity to learn from the best in the field but to gain a deeper appreciation of the technological and societal challenges facing the country as a whole.
“This international exchange will provide an additional dimension to the development of our people, and BSP is delighted to be able to offer an exchange with BPI who faces similar challenges as they operate in a developing context similar to PNG.”
Fleming explained that BSP’s focus was to improve its sales and service capabilities and to achieve that, it was committed to investing in its greatest asset – human resources.
The objective of the programme is to mentor and develop staff to take on senior and executive leadership roles in the next three-five years.
The three bankers extended their appreciation and applauded the bank for the opportunity.
