Health Secretary calls on Staff to resume work
It’s the beginning of the New Year and Health Workers around country should be resuming duty by now, however this does not seem to be the case according to the Health Department.
New graduands should also be taking up their positions in the hospitals as instructed by the Department of Health.
Health Secretary Pascoe Kase reassured citizens that this year, there will be a beefing up on the number of doctors and nurses taking up the vacancies in the hospitals.
“The government has funded a lot of nursing colleges throughout the country last year so we will see a lot graduands coming out from nursing colleges looking for jobs this year” said Mr Kase.
Mr Kase is also calling on the current hospital staff to resume duty now as around this time, the hospitals should be in full swing.
“Doctors and nurse who are still on break should be getting themselves prepared and return to their duties by this month and the same applies to the new graduands, you should also see CEO’s of hospitals and take up the vacant positions” said Mr Pasco Kase. PNGFM
