Works department launches corporate plan
The National Works Department today launched its Corporate Plan 2015-2019 and the Specification for Roads and Bridges Works with the aim of improving roads and bridges in the country.
Works Secretary David Wereh revealed that past corporate plans have failed to achieve key priorities and this plan is looking forward to improving overall performances of the Department to achieve key priorities.
He said the plan will deliver on the Government’s call in addressing road infrastructures and the Department is aiming at saving K1.7million in the next 5 years from successfully implementing the plan.
Works Minister Francis Awesa said one thing that caused Corporate Plans not to be fully implemented is that most of them are not aligned to Government Agendas.
The Minister has called on Works Secretary David Wereh and Staff and Management of Works to make sure the Corporate Plan is aligned to Government Agendas so that will allow for funding from the National Government to implement the plan.
He made these remarks today at the launching of the National Works Corporate Plan today saying Roads remain the number one agenda to be addressed by the Works Department. PNGFM / PNG Today
