Team USA arrives in Papua New Guinea
Team USA arrived today in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea and were given a rousing welcome by fans who filled the Jackson International Airport to witness the teams arrival.
Team USA was greeted by singsing groups and was presented with traditional attires as a gesture of welcoming the team to our country.
USA coach Michelle France said the girls are a new squad apart from the recent team who came here for the friendlies against our PNG girls.
Despite the team not having a world cup experience, she is adamant her girls can prove their best and earn some good results.
Speaking about 3 time World Cup title holders Germany, USA will make every effort to win their Pool Games before meeting the soccer giants; their focus now is France, said coach Michelle France.
"A lot of countries here made it to 17th level and have progressed over the years. So we won’t be taking all pool matches lightly."
The USA women’s team will be led by the only young star captain, Velari Pearce who has a wealth of experience in playing at world stage level. PNGFM / PNG Today
