Australia gives K1.5million to PNG National Research Institute
PNG National Research Institute has been supported with a K1.5 million aid to carry out its research programs.
The Australian High Commissioner Bruce Davis made the announcement this week during a visit to the institute as a token of appreciation for the institute’s continued efforts in carrying research on land reform policies.
High Commissioner Davis while commending the institutes efforts said Australia will continue to support the work of the Institute.
An additional K4.1 million will be given to the National Research Institute to build an APEC study centre this year.
He said this will not only be for the study centre but for an overall refurbishment of the infrastructures in the institute.
NRI Director Dr. Charles Yala in thanking the Australian High Commissioner ad his delegates said they looked forward to building a strong APEC Study Centre.
