Churches partner with PNG Health Dept to boost Health Services
Church run health centres in the country can now raise their issues to the National Department of Health after an official signing of the Health Partnership Agreement between the National Department of Health and the Christian Health Services yesterday.
The M.O.U was signed by outgoing CEO of CHS Joseph Sika, CHS Chairman Wallace Kintak and Health Secretary Pascoe Kase.
Secretary Kase told the CHS staff that they can now work with NDOH as equal partners.
Kase said that Hospitals in the country must continue to operate despite funding issues. Kase said despite shortage of drug supplies and facilities, hospitals must operate and let NDOH deal with their problems.
He also stressed that there was a shortage of health workers in hospitals adding that the demand is high.
Kase further said that more health workers will be trained and sent to hospitals once a stand along medical university is been set up. PNGFM/PNG Today
