Tourist arrival in Fiji from Australia and NZ remain high
Fiji's tourism industry is still depending on Australia in New Zealand in terms of getting the increased number of tourist arrivals in the country.
Economy Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Kahiyum says about sixty percent of our tourist arrivals comes from this two countries.
Sayed-Khaiyum says the government is currently working with the Tourism Industry to try and lure tourist from other countries visit Fiji.
“Now what if there is an economic down turn in Australia and there are very low numbers of tourist, it will have a huge impact on us and if we get visitors from India, China and North America and more Europeans that we can be able to diversify the risk.”
In an effort to attract more tourist to Fiji, the government is currently working with Fiji Airways to establish new routes to other parts of the world.
