COVID-19 Patient in Goroka is not dead : Dr
The woman who was tested positive to the coronavirus in Eastern Highlands Province in PNG is well and in a stable condition.
Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority CEO Dr. Joseph Apa, said this when brushing aside rumors that were circulated on social media Facebook, that she had succumbed to the virus around midday today.
Dr. Apa said that she is currently at the Isolation Centre at the Goroka Provincial Hospital and is being attended to by staff at the hospital.
He also added that the Eastern Highlands PHA is working tirelessly with all its partners and stakeholders to prevent the spread of the virus.
Dr. Apa has also announced that he will report the matter to the SOE Controller, to ensure those who have spread the lies are arrested and charged under the Cybercrime as well as the SOE Laws.
Meantime, Provincial Health Authority CEO Dr. Joseph Apa stated yesterday that they are not yet sure where she contracted the virus.
He added that a Rapid Response Team from Port Moresby is at Samatoka village and is conducting contact tracing.
