PNG Sports Foundation to initiate Back-To-Sports Covid-19 Protocol

The PNG Sports Foundation as the Government Agency of Sports is pleased to produce this Back To Sports Covid-19 Protocol to all our stakeholders.

The Back To Sports Covid-19 Protocol will enable the PNG Sports Foundation to initiate an active data monitoring system in all our venues.
PNGSF CEO Peter Tsiamalili Junior said the Protocol is part of the Organization's efforts towards contact tracing.

"The Foundation will issue membership passes for all stakeholders and staff to enter into our sports facilities; everyone must be accounted for when using our facilities.

"The return to normal for sports, it's spectators and sponsors, will be further enhanced by Facebook livestreams as a mitigating measure for crowd control and social distancing. This will create the opportunity for viewership of our local sporting content on all social media platforms."

"Let us embrace the new normal of Sports in Papua New Guinea and take the challenges as unprecedented opportunity to excel and monetize sports in a manageable and closed environment that is health conscious and globally responsible" Tsiamalili said.

PNGSF Board Chairman Ian Chow said "I take this time to convert my sincerest appreciation to our Prime Minister and Minister for Sports Hon. James Marape and National Government for taking stiff precautionary measures in ensuring Papua New Guinea continues to be Covid-19 free and safe."

"As the world strives to return back to a new normal, the space of Sports in Papua New Guinea will also be returning to a new normal. The Board of the Foundation extends our gratitude to Dr Kapua Kapua who was appointed as our Chief Medical Officer, overseeing the Rita Flynn Covid-19 Multipurpose facility, for developing our Covid-19 Back-To-Sports Protocols."

"As Chairman, I am proud to present this overarching Sports Protocol guide which will protect all our stakeholders' and return sports to a safe manageable Covid-19-free environment" Mr Chow said.
