This now creates confusion between the operators and the National Gaming Control Board, who in an email correspondence, notified operators yesterday that with the uplifting of the SOE, gaming machines could be activated at the respective sites.

The notice says gaming sites were allowed to commence operations but must adhere to the infectious disease prevention policy, which was previously sent to them in a circular during the SOE period.

However, controller Manning when asked yesterday if betting shops and night clubs will open, says all operations are to remain closed until government completes the transition.

He says as far as they are concern, with efforts to return back to the new normal, they are weighing out the social value of certain activities.  PNGFM/PNG Today
