Port Moresby Police Appeal for Information After Criminals Rob and Kill a man in the city

A man was shot, robbed and rushed to the Port Moresby General Hospital yesterday, but later pronounced dead.
This crime attack has prompted police to call on city residents to assist them find the killers.
NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Perou N'Dranou said the victim, a male adult from Imbongu Southern Highlands Province was held up by several gunmen as he drove out of the Waigani Wespac bank at around 3.30 P.M yesterday.
Mr N'Dranou said the criminals shot the victim at point- blank, took over his car and some unspecified amount of cash before escaping. The badly wounded man was taken to the hospital by a good samaritan but died sometime later.
Mr N'Dranou said a member of the gang who was left behind at the crime scene escaped in a stolen taxi cab. The lone suspect is said to have produced a pistol, held up a taxi driver and took- off in the stolen cab.
The vehicle belonging to the victim was not recovered when this article was uploaded but the stolen cab was recovered that same day at Hohola Number 2.
The Metsup is now appealing to NCD residents to help police find the suspects involved in these crimes.
The Metsup said anyone with information relating to these crimes should contact the NCD Metropolitan Crime Hotline number 1800 100 at anytime.
