ICT Can transform PNG
Statement by ICT Department
The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Papua New Guinea has strong potential to transform the country in ways never seen or experienced before such as reducing information and transaction costs, creating new collaborative models to increase the efficiency of workers both in government and private sector, promoting innovation and transparency, and improving education, health, agriculture, fisheries, the creative industry and many more.
The PNG Department of Information and Communications Technology is encouraging more digital transformation champions to drive awareness and training not only for #womeninict and #girlsinict but also #meninict and #boysinict.
For the government to build a robust ICT sector, there is a need for greater collaboration in the ICT space between the government and private sector organizations in Papua New Guinea.
The Department wishes to commend the team from BSP Financial Group Limited, Kina Bank, Emstret Holdings Limited, ExxonMobil, PNG Flying Labs, PNG Digital ICT Cluster Inc. and others who were part of the #GirlsinICT one day event yesterday.
