Mr O’Neill told a media conference yesterday that this was another attempt to overthrow a legitimate government.
The lawyers successfully sought a stay order on those bench warrants before senior magistrate Lawrence Kangwia yesterday pending full arguments in court later this week.
Mr O’Neill also announced that a task force will be set up by Police Commissioner Tom Kulunga to investigate the apparent collaboration between Opposition Leader Belden Namah and some "rogue" policemen to obtain a warrant of arrest and a court order outside of the normal lawful processes.
A formal complaint on this against Mr Namah was lodged with the police yesterday morning, which would ensure a thorough investigation by the task force, Mr O’Neill said.
