503 new teachers graduate from Balob Teachers College
The 50th Balop Teachers College Graduation saw 503 new teachers graduating and will take up various teaching posts throughout the country early next year 2015.
Special guests present were Finance Minister Hon.James Marape Mp, Bishop Giregire Wenge ELCPNG, Bishop David Piso Gut Nius Lutheran Church and many other important dignitaries from the national/provincial department of education.
There are about 49 000 teachers already in the country but this number has decreased recently. This is because some teachers have retired while others joined other careers. The new graduates will accommodate the shortfall of teachers in the country. It is understood other teachers colleges will graduate same number of graduates at the end of the year.
