Jiwaka Teachers' College overcrowded
In its second year only of operation, the Jiwaka Teacher’s College is already overcrowded with an increase in students arriving for registration. This is according to the Director Paul Siwi. In an interview with this newsroom, he says the capacity of facilities is enough for 300 students however, this week and last week, there is a total of almost 500 students on ground to register. Mr Siwi adds that this means there will be now be almost 80 students per classroom as the College only has 3. Despite this, Mr Siwi says the College will not be turning any students away as these are the very people who are to teach and train the future of our nation. It is understood that infrastructure capacity will be addressed later during the year, as the College seeks funding from the MP for North Whaghi and Defence Minister Dr Fabian Pok, among other business houses and leaders.
