PNG Hunters to play Northern Pride in a trial
The Papua New Guinea Hunters will play a trial match against the Instrust Super Cup Premiers Northern Pride in Cairns.
The SP Hunters this morning had their Captains run training sessions at the Port Moresby International School prior to their departure this afternoon to Cairns for their Trial match against the Northern Pride tomorrow.
To the delight of the students the Hunters team arrived just in time as they were having their morning Recess break as the students get to watch our local rugby league hero’s going through their drills.
Coach Michael Marum said he is happy with the boy’s preparation and they are in their best possible shape and they are excited, particularly the young players in the team.
He said their focus for tomorrows trial match will be to work on their combinations and giving the new players a taste of what is expected when competition starts next weekend as they will be missing a handful of their experienced older folks for few matches.
The team left without the likes of Noel Zeming, Sebastian Pandia, Timothy Lomai and Adex Wera who are currently nursing injuries.
