U.S. Ambassador North to Visit UNITECH

U.S. Ambassador Walter North will visit Lae, Morobe Province from February 4 to 6 to speak and interact with first year students as part of the University of Technology 2015 Orientation Ceremony. Over 700 new students, friends and family will participate.

Ambassador North will encourage Unitech students to use their education to advance progress in Papua New Guinea and the world. He will explore student attitudes on prospects for PNG in the Pacific Century, the challenges that they face and their hopes for the future. He will discuss ideas for increasing the number of Papua New Guineans studying in the United States.

While in Lae, Ambassador North will meet with Provincial government representatives, women’s groups and business, including American companies, to discuss challenges and opportunities in and around Lae in light of recent unsettling security incidents.
