Famous Goroka Cultural Festival set to be implausible

The world renowned Annual Goroka Cultural Festival is set to be extraordinary according to the Goroka Show Society during their first meeting held at the Bird of Paradise Hotel on the 12 of May. This year will mark the 59th Goroka Cultural Festival and it is a biggest and oldest event in the Nation. The Goroka Show Committee planned for the Highlands largest and well-known Goroka Show witnessed by the Representatives from Cooperate entities.
The Goroka Cultural Show is a Government Institution but the Government arm of National Event Council is not funding the largest annual event in the Highlands. The Goroka Cultural show is a social obligation for the people of Eastern Highlands Province and the National Government should look into it. The show is belonging to 800,000 plus people of Eastern Highlands Province and the National Government need to fund and sustain to ensure people showcased their cultural diversity. The event is self- sustainable and also it is sponsored by Business Houses, the Provincial Government and Cooperate entities.
This year’s event is going to be the biggest in the history and more than 150 cultural groups throughout the country will take part.
The show will be held at National Sporting Institute and the Gate Tickets will be sold at K5.00 for children and K10.00 for adults and that is for ordinary people whistle for VIP and Tourists are set forth. The cultural event will take three days and the first day which is Friday is set for the children and it is called the “Pikinini Festival”. The Pikinini Festival will be enthralling as primary aged students all of the country will participate with different programs such as sporting, traditional dances, and showcase the elements of culture. All children will enter the gate free on Friday for the Pikinini Festival. In addition Miss Goroka Quest will be put on during the Nights on Thursday and Friday. There will be 16 contestants for Quest participating, two from each electorate from the 8 electorates of Eastern Highlands Province.
