Two students arrested and charged for raping Mt Diamond Secondary School student
The two students that were apprehended by Central Police last Tuesday over the Mt Diamond Rape incident have been arrested and charged for rape and are now in custody with full investigations still ongoing.
Central PPC Laimo Asi said this morning that these two students were part of the search party with other students and teachers that went into the bushes to look for the female and male students that were having their home-brew drinking session.
“Upon their arrival in the bush that the drinking session was on, the males ran away but the female students were too drunk and remained and seeing this, the students raped the female students,” said PPC Asi.
PPC Asi also stated that there were more people involved in this rape case and more arrest will follow but the police need full cooperation and statements from the other females also victims of this rape incident.
“The victims have not come forward to us and our CID officers are relying on information gathered from eye witnesses, but we need those victims to really come forward so that we fast track our investigations and arrest those persons responsible in this horrific act,” said Mr Asi.
