Thousands witness flag raising ceremony in Port Moresby
The 40th Independence Day Celebration started this morning at the famous Independence Hill with the Flag Raising Ceremony attended by more than 2000 residents of Port Moresby City as early as 5am.
The ceremony saw dignitaries from the High Commissions of various countries, war veterans from Australia and various members from the Pacific Island Countries attending.
Prime Minister Peter O’Neill while commenting on the achievements of the country said that we still have a long way to go and that we needed to work together and be ambitious in trying to achieve our goal.
O'Neill also added that we are richly blessed with natural resources and we should do our very best to manage them well to benefit the future generation. PNG FM/ PNG Today
