Soldiers involved in Waigani Police Station attack will be disciplined
Soldiers who were involved in the attack on the Waigani Police Station in Port Moresby last Wednesday will have disciplinary action taken against them if found to be responsible.
This is the strong word from the Army’s Chief of Staff, Col. Mark Goina. Goina says they have also conducted their own investigations and confirm that the soldiers involved in the incident are from the First Royal Pacific Island Regiment (1RPIR) based at Taurama Barracks just outside of the city.
Col. Goina says he will be fully briefed on the incident, including those involved when he gets the full report from the Commanding Officer for Taurama Barracks by this afternoon. Following this he will make his decisions to take disciplinary action on those found responsible.
