SME Summit on E Commerce

A one day business summit organised by Investment Promotion Authority this morning on E Commerce, saw speakers from international companies like Google and other E Commerce businesses give insight s to interested SME’s and others on the advantages of doing business on line.
The presentation for this morning was an eye opener for Papua New Guineans involved in SMEs as it was proven by DHgate.com, a Chinese eBay company that buys and sells products on line.
Head of the Public Relations Ivy Zhang said doing on line business or E Commerce is much easier and faster and it also connects markets all over the world.
“E commerce allows you to bypass the middlemen, it shortens business cycles, it increases profit margin, you can be able to extend your market and overall, you can operate your business with ease” said Ms Zhang.
Meanwhile International Consultant for Google Elodie Benoist said it’s very important that anyone who is involved in a SME must have access to internet as the internet is the only gateway to the outside world that can allow business owners to market your products quickly.
“ When you have access to internet, you are able to do research and find the best market in the world for your product and with the introduction of applications like eBay, you have a bigger chance in expanding your business than doing it in the old traditional way” said Ms Benoist. PNGFM/PNG Today
