PNG Immigration saddeneby by sudden loss of Dr Kalinoe

Papua New Guinea Chief Migration Officer Solomon Kantha today expressed his shock at the sudden passing of former Secretary for Justice & Attorney General Dr
Lawrence Kalinoe.

Dr Kalinoe was the longest serving departmental head of his department.

“Dr Kalinoe’s passing is a huge loss to the country as he still has a lot to contribute as one of the best legal minds in the country. His contribution to the country has been enormous in this short time”, said Mr Kantha.

“We are deeply saddened by his loss as Dr Kalinoe was a founding member of our Advisory Board since its inception in 2012 and was recently our outgoing Board Chairman. He was also serving on the Citizenship Advisory Committee as a Permanent Member since 2012 and has made a huge contribution to Immigration on policy and legislative matters. It will take a long while to fill the void left by Dr Kalinoe”, added Mr Kantha.

"On behalf of the Minister, members of the ICA Advisory Board, the Citizenship Advisory Committee, I would like to convey our deepest sympathy to the wife, children and relatives
of the late Dr Kalinoe", said Mr Kantha.
