PNG Police Minister Kramer calls on acting Police Commissioner Francis Tokura to step down
PNG Acting Police Commissioner Francis Tokura is crying foul after receiving messages from Police Minister Bryan Kramer from him to step down.
Francis Tokura has been acting in that position for almost two months.
In a press conference today, the Acting Police Commissioner told reporters Minister Kramer's informed him through a text message on WhatsApp that NEC have made the decision to appoint current Acting Deputy Police Commissioner Operations, David Manning to replace him.
Mr Tokura described the Minister's action as highly questionable and suspicious.
He said the minister does not respect PNG Royal Police Constabulary as a constitutional office.
Meantime Kramer is expected to clearify this matter in a press conference in an hour time.
