Japan supports Works Department to Connection Main Highways in PNG

The Japanese Government continues to buy more road works machinery fleet located at the Papua New Guinea Department of Works and Highways provincial branches.

The Provincial Transport Boards of Madang, Western and East New Britain Provinces will be the recipients of K10-million worth of road works equipment.     

Recently, the Japanese Embassy handed over the machines to Madang P-T-B, following the presentation to East New Britain P-T-B.   

This is part of the Japanese Government's commitment to the national government's ambitious policy to connect mainland Papua New Guinea with a national highway.

Japanese Ambassador, Nobuyuki Watanabe believes building good roads will improve the lives of Papua New Guineans, eighty-per cent of whom, call rural parts of the country, home.
