Oil Search Pacific Games Relay in Kimbe, West New Britain Province
The Oil Search Pacific Games Relay travelled over a thousand kilometres today, leaving Moro in Hela province and flying across the country to Hoskins and Kimbe in West New Britain.
The Baton arrived in the early evening into Hoskins and was welcomed by Governor Muthavel at the airport, as the pouring rain took a small break.
From there the Baton was driven through the streets, stopping at Hoskins Secondary School where the students got to see the Baton and Grade 12 student Daphney Vitata took the Baton for a play in the large puddles left by the downpour.
The Relay team will attend a welcome function at Walindi Resort tonight, hosted by the Governor.
Tomorrow the relay visits New Britain Oil Palm and will be doing a Relay around Kimbe town.
