Pacific Games Volunteers and Officials thanked
The Pacific Games volunteers and officials have been praised for the marvelous job well done.
The Sport Minister, Justin Tkatchenko made this remark this afternoon when speaking at the Thank you Party for the Bank South Pacific (BSP) Wantok Volunteers and the Pacific Games Technical Team at the Sir John Guise BSP Stadium.
“As far as the government is concerned, you are all champions for the hard work and commitment you have put into the pacific games,” Tkatchenko said.
“The time and effort that you put in showed what we can achieve as a country when we all come together as one, especially under the name of sports.”
“I congratulate all of you also for showing how our country is moving forward in many different ways.”
Over 3, 000 volunteers and 1, 000 technical officials were engaged in the two weeks of games working as guides for athletes and the public, sporting technical officials and performing general volunteer tasks at the different sporting venues and the games village.
The volunteers and technical officials also received their certificates of participation in the Pacific Games today.
The Minister later thanked them for also putting country on the map as one of the countries that is capable of hosting a major sporting event.
