Buka Town in Bougainville to be toursim hub by 2018

The Buka Town Tourism Development Programme 2016-2020 was co- launched by the National Minister for Tourism Arts and Culture Hon Tobias Kulaung and ABG Vice Minister for Arts and Culture Hon Robert Hamal Sawa on the 14th July 2016.

The Programme has 4 major components that will achieve the expected outcomes of the Programme . Component one deals with Buka Town Tourism Infrastructures which has a milestone that needs to be achieved by 2018 and that is for Buka Town to be declared a Tourism Hub for the Autonomous Region of Bougainville .

The second component deals with Tourism Packages for the Hub and the third and fourth component deals with capacity building and stakeholder caloboration respectively .
The Special component that is tied to component four is the SOLOMON SEAS TOURISM ZONE INITIATIVE, which will be the vehicle linking tourism through from the Autonomous Region of Bougainville , Solomon Islands, Vanuatu , Fiji and other Pacific Island Nations.
