Early Sex cause of Cervical Cancer in PNG

A Gynaecologist at the Pacific International Hospital  in Port Moresby, PNG has revealed cervical cancer is becoming very common today because of females having sex at premature ages.

Dr. Mathias Sapuri said in the past because of sex as taboo many women had sex only after marriage but now females are having sex at ages around 11 and some below through sexual assault.

He said in the last 10- 15 years cervical cancer was not common and it was a disease ranked as the tenth but now it is gone up to be the number three top diseases in PNG.

Dr. Sapuri further encouraged all girls below 16 years of age to stay away from sex at an early age but to do so at the right age in order to prevent cervical cancer in their life.
