Former PNG Foreign Minister Pato pays Tribute to Shinzo Abe

Former PNG's longest-serving Foreign Affairs Minister, Rimbink Pato has paid special tribute to Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Parliament today.

He paid tribute alongside Prime Minster James Marape and former Prime minister Peter O'Neill, both have released statements earlier.



Shinzo Abe had resigned as Prime Minister of Japan due to medical reasons.

Rimbink Pato who is the member for Wapenamanda District thank Shinzo Abe for maintaining and strengthening economic ties between PNG and Japan during his tenure as Japan's Prime Minister.

Mr. Pato further added that, through Prime Minister Abe's efforts and warm friendship, the relationship between PNG and Japan has become deep, productive, and long-lasting.

Mr. Pato who shared many fond memories with Mr. Abe as PNG's longest-serving Foreign Affairs minister sends Prime Minister Abe and good wife Mrs. Abe best wishes for the future.
