PNG Elections delayed
The Papua New Guinea Chief Electoral Commissioner, Simon Sinai says one of the major reasons for the delay in the issue of writs is the formation of the 7 new electorates.
He says since Parliament has passed the 7 new electorates, boundaries will have to be aligned including the council wards, Local Level Governments and renamed ballot papers.
Among these reasons, was COVID-19 which has affected many operations and has also led to constraints in funding issues.
