Port Moresby South MP Applauds Judah Rimbu’s Rugby Accomplishments
Port Moresby South MP Justin Tkatchenko has expressed immense pride in the achievements of Judah Rimbu, a standout player from the Moresby South Rugby League competition and a key member of the SP PNG Hunters Rugby League team. Tkatchenko reflected on Rimbu’s early days as a young boy from Kaugere, trying to find his place in life and excelling in local competitions, where he consistently stood out.

The MP highlighted Rimbu’s journey to becoming a professional rugby player, noting the challenges he faced along the way. His dedication has earned him a spot among Papua New Guinea’s top athletes, including a place in the prestigious QRL Hostplus Cup. Tkatchenko emphasized that Rimbu’s perseverance has been a defining factor in his success.
Tkatchenko also reminded young players that talent alone is not enough to succeed. He praised Rimbu’s work ethic and encouraged him to keep striving for greatness, knowing that hard work and determination have brought him this far.
Rimbu, proudly wearing the number 9 jersey for the Hunters, has made significant strides in his career. He was recently awarded the Petero Civoniceva Medal as the QRL Hostplus Cup Player of the Year and was also recognized by his peers with the Players' Player award.
Tkatchenko extended heartfelt congratulations to Rimbu, expressing how proud Moresby South is of his accomplishments.
