Bela Tvet, Heyep Junior High, and Primary Schools Benefit from Tondpi’s Vision
Hon. Raphael Tondpi, MP for Mendi Munhiu, has continued to demonstrate his unwavering commitment to education in the Karzine LLG area. On 2nd December 2024, he handed over a fully equipped house for the Manager of Bela Tvet, an initiative funded by the Mendi Munhiu District Development Authority (DDA) under his leadership. The house, valued at K250,000, is part of a broader effort to enhance educational infrastructure in the Bela, Heyep, Kiap Mulim, and Bela 2 council wards.

In addition to the manager’s house, Hon. Tondpi has also invested in improving Bela Tvet’s facilities. Last year, he allocated K100,000 for the construction of a new double classroom, which is currently under construction. This project aims to create a conducive learning environment for students and support the delivery of quality education in the area.
Another significant investment by Hon. Tondpi is the allocation of K500,000 to establish Heyep Junior High School. The school is set to begin construction soon and will enroll its first Grade 7 students in 2026 as part of the government’s 1-6-6 policy. This initiative reflects the district’s commitment to expanding access to secondary education for children in Karzine LLG and its surrounding communities.
Bela Primary School has also seen considerable support under Hon. Tondpi’s leadership. This year, the school received six new teaching positions and a funding boost of K100,000. The additional resources aim to improve the school’s capacity to cater to its growing student population and enhance educational outcomes.
During the handover ceremony, Hon. Tondpi reaffirmed his commitment to education, stating, “Educating a child is everyone’s business.” He commended the Mendi Munhiu DDA for its continued support and emphasized the importance of investing in the district’s future through education.
The Karzine LLG community has lauded Hon. Tondpi’s efforts in prioritizing education. His vision and leadership in delivering these key projects have been widely recognized as pivotal in shaping a brighter future for the children of Mendi Munhiu.
