PNC adds two more MPs from Manus
The Peoples' National Congress (PNC) candidates for Manus Regional and Open have retained their seats back after the final round of elimination . Sitting Governor Charlie Benjamin collected 7, 371 votes after the final round of elimination and was declared winner by the returning officer.
While Jomb Pomat for the Manus Open also another PNC candidate, collected 6,844 votes and was declared winner by the returning officer.
The number of the ruling Party PNC is now increasing and more are yet to be added as most candidates endorsed by the party are leading the counting around the country. So far the declared candidates under the PNC party are:
1. James Marape - Tari - Pori (Hela)
2. Justin Tkatchenko - Moresby South (NCD)
3. Peter O'Neill - Ialibu- Pangia (SHP)
4. Charlie Benjamin - Manus Regional - Manus
5. Job Pomat- Manus Open- Manus
So far the PNC Party has 5 members. An independent candidate Petrus Thomas who won the Koroba-Kopiago Open seat has also joined the PNC party taking the number to 6 members.
