Simbu Regional Recount Results disputed
Results from the court-ordered recount of ballots into the Simbu Regional Seat were presented to the National Court in Waigani this morning.
Electoral Commission lawyers presented the results to election petitions judge administrator, Justice Colin Makail.
However, the result could not be verified and declared by the court, because the former governor and now petitioner, Noah Kool, had asked the court to dispute the results.
Once Mr Kool's request is heard and determined, the court will proceed to verify and declare the results.
The recount was completed last Sunday May 5, at the National Sports Institute in Goroka Eastern Highlands Province.
